Comeback.

Hi. Err hi. Its been a while. I mean A YEAR.
*swipe the spider web, blow the dust fuhh fuhh

My last post was about the biggest local event of Herbalife Spectacular in 2014 and I already went to Spectacular 2015 last January. I sure will blog about it some other time. You can expect that there will be lot of throwback post coming up after this because a year that I left empty was a very compact year, not even a day left with empty memories.

The reason from my comeback is; I am no longer a President to PPPCK! Oh Lord, thank you finally I can breath. You may search through the post on my old rack searching for the point of why I postponed blogging.

After all, the president's path wasn't as easy as anyone can imagine. The moment I decided I'll walked on the path, I hate to tell you it wasn't a red carpet like what you think of. I believe, being a president wasn't a position but a responsible to hold for.

My intention is just to continue building up the legacy of the past leaders. If you know PPPCK, the association was just as ugly as its name.
Hahaha XD

very unfamiliar.
 hard to pronounce.
not a glaring name to be commercialize.

However, for these past few years, I may say starting from the time I came in, haha jokes! the association start to build up names not just in faculty levels, or university level, we are building it up to the international level. Just to make occupational therapy profession somewhat to be well-known.

Seeing people clueless when I say I am an occupational therapist, looking wrinkles on their forehead even so they nod their head really really make me sick and disappointed! And I decided to take it as a responsibilities to hold onto.

Of course I don't have money to make ads and put in on tv or radio saying; " not able to return to work after accident? Don't worry OT can help you."
I'm not even a minister's wife that my face can come out on parliament and yelled OT is the best, we need to hire more OT because they can make impossible things  become possible with their adaptation!
Not even a singer who could sing on stage with all the lights and cameras singing lalala OT understand your child, they are not as nakal as you think, they just hypersensitive.
Ok such song doesn't exist.

So, we need another way to commercialize. And this job is not  just one person responsibilities. It requires everyone commitment, dedication and passion. A lot to sacrifices; time, sometime class (I know I'd burdened my classmates a lot), sometime meals (thanks God I have a 3 mins shake that make me slimmer despite my busy schedules), money (ikhlas Mar, ikhlas *sobs), Herbalife (poor clients, I'm sorry) and so, blogging time. Teeheee.

But I have a strong believe when you plant a seed, water it, take care of it, pour it with hope, success and love, it will come back to you in abundance. That's the law of nature.

Dean's award and a token of recognition for organizing a high impact program in university level.

I never imagine that I can go this far, not even in my wildest dream.

and in case if you are asking what do I get when I did all these?
I would say.
Just SATISFACTION.

at least I know, I'm doing something extraordinary in my life and I'm not living a same day everyday. That's how I valued life.

Alhamdulilah, thank you Allah for the delightful year of 2014.

Ok, iklan sebentar. Haha!

To make it simple to understand, pressure garments is often used to flatten scar whether it is caused by surgery, wounds or burns. It was a garments that you need to wear 23 hours/day that helps your skin cell regeneration didn't overgrowth that will results in making keloid. It also used for edema as it gives your skin the exact pressure so that the swollen area can be reduced.

Pressure garments wasn't just made for pants and vests, we even made sleeves, socks, gloves and also masks too!
Behind the scene of making the pressure garments.

The mask is cute right although it hasn't completely sewed? Hahaha.
If you are curious if all occupational therapist know how to use sewing machine, the answer is yes we do.
So makcik out there, so do the men who are trying to find perempuan melayu terakhir that knows the basic things of becoming housewife, you sure know where to find it after thoroughly reading my post.

What are the other criterion that you are searching for in choosing a wife other than sewing?

Know how to deal with kids? We specializing in behavior modification for kids and for you too. Haha.
Know how to do house chores? Oh what with house chores, we even do thorough task analysis.

President's walk.

The two most important days in your life are the day you are born
and
the day you know why.

13.12.13
A number that will only come once.
It was a really shocking news to be appointed as the President for the student association which never happened to come across my mind. I was thinking so hard on how am I going through this and to lift the heaviest things in the world which is amanah on my shoulder.

Question like how to be wise, how can I inspired, how to make everything worth for people, there is so many how that I can't answered.
I even think of what can I do, what should I and what will I.
I've been thinking on how will people see me, will they accept, will I adapt.
And the what question also unanswerable.

Imagine suddenly within 24hours you got lot of e-mails to reply, text messages keeps popping out from unknown numbers asking you to do this and that, and I was surprised to see like, what 30 friends request in one night?? People, my facebook account is ancient, not like I was new to it.
And with all of the things that happen, you will realize that this path will gonna be tougher.

*sigh
"Oh Allah, please help me."

To the PPPCK committee, thank you for putting your trust on me and my troops. President is an action, not a position. I will be your front line and you are the people inside it. Lend us your hand and your dua' so we will be strong enough to bring you and the association up to the next level.

"No one can whistle a symphony, it takes the whole orchestra to play it.
Same goes to our association.
I believe, coming together is the beginning.
Keeping together is a progress.
and WORKING TOGETHER IS A SUCCESS."

To the new 2013/14 frontline of PPPCK, I called you troopers because I believe we are a group of soldiers that will be battling in uplifting this responsibility. I'm bidding on your commitment and your willingness to work. What ever come across our mind, whether we like our position or not, think that Allah has put us here. And believe that they must be a reason behind His arrangement.

So, fade off your mourn, light on your sincere.
Let's work together to fulfill our amanah.
May Allah ease everything.

I'm walking as PPPCK's President that someday I hope I will continue to walk on my feet as Herbalife's International President Team.

Maybe for you diploma was just a little cert and maybe worthless.
But the experience, the laugh and tears, the up and down, the friend and foe are all
 priceless.

"Thanks to those who entered my life, you made who I am today.
Thanks to those who cared, you make me feel so important.
Thanks to those who listened, you made me like I was worth it.

Orthotics story.

Orthotics class was never failed to create joyful and excited atmosphere. This is the second time I'm attending the Orthotics and Pressure Garments class - this subject didn't get credit exemption. Perhaps the people inside the class is different. For me its different; because none of them are from the same diploma group as me.

Although its distract and disappoint me a little but life must go on. Haha.
*blinking eyes laju-laju
Well OT's, let's refresh our memories about splint. Splint was used mainly to correct positioning. There are many designs of splint and the used of splint vary depending on the client's condition and how the splint can support their improvement.

In simple way, splint can be categorized into 4 categories:-
i.  Static splint - for positioning purpose, hold in one position.
ii. Static progressive - static splint yet can increase progressively.
iii. Serial static - serial but no moving parts, focus on positioning sometimes ROM.
iv. Dynamic splint - using mechanical movement for moving parts.

My first lab session for this semester required us to make one example of static splint for leg (LL) and hand (UL). Let's review our piece of art.

Ankle-Foot Orthosis (AFO)
to control the position and motion of the ankle

You may  saw all the AFO above are 'bigger in size', but don't be surprise, it also can be used to babies usually for clubfoot/CTEV or even childrens and old folks to support fracture healing. The unique of this thermoplastic materials, it can be mold into your size. Done with the leg parts. Let's see the design for hand.

Cock-up/Resting/Night Splint
to restrict the movement of wrist but maintain/free the movement of fingers

This pattern of splint usually used to reduce the pain suffered by the Carpal Tunnel Syndrome client. So it helps to restrict the movement of wrist and free the stress on the carpal tunnel. The best things of this orthosis materials is it wasn't permanent and can be took off at the suggested interval of times. Interesting right? Well this is just the introduction of basic static splint, I'll try to show you more next week!

MAP OTSCore 2013.

I feel like it was an honored blogging about this congress. OTSCore was a 'something' to me. I witnessed the tremendous revolution of the event results from the students' passion and hard work. I remembered, the idea first come from 2011 ASMOT - Academic Symposium Of Malaysia Occupational Therapy Students : Pre-Eminence Findings. It was a one day event, considered as state level symposium. The participants consists of two organizations -UiTM and KSKB Sg. Buloh.

Academic Symposium of Malaysia Occupational Therapy : Pre-Eminence Findings

Well, at this time, I was appointed to be the moderator for research presentation. The strenuous work wasn't really flow in my veins. But, it was still something to be proud of. Seeing two different organization mingling together shared knowledge and skills, the amusement was something to be felt of.

The effort doesn't end that way, from state level we were moving to the national level. We welcomed not just students but clinician and experts from all over Malaysia. And my heart felt for this hard work. I was playing an important role as the part of the team, and we started 2012 OTSCore - Occupational Therapy Students' Congress : Metamorphosis in Occupational Therapy Practices with only 3 confront young women. Kak Ida and Afiqah K a.k.a Nyah, if you are reading this, I wish I could send you a bouquet of thankfulness, no words can described how much I loved to works with you guys and how I was indescribably happy to have such laugh and tears memorable moments with both of you.
